News: Bang Bang Racing heads to Android
PS3, Xbox 360 game squeezed onto mobiles.
PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 racer Bang Bang Racing is being ported to Tegra-powered Android devices.
The chunky-looking title is being shrunk down via the magic of NVIDIA's advanced Tegra processor.
Tegra allows for whizzy graphics and lots more computational power. NVIDIA has dubbed it a "computer-on-a-chip".

Developers get the latest 'iPhone 4S' from Apple
Apple has begun shipping a souped-up so-called "iPhone 4S" to games and app developers, in preparation for the forthcoming launch of the new iPhone 5.
A select few games devs have received the new Apple iPhone, to help them prepare the best titles possible for the iPhone 5 launch.
A5 chip in iPhone
9to5Mac reports that the new handsets feature Apple's super-nippy A5 chip, allowing developers to create the fastest and best-looking mobile phone games yet possible.
The A5 chip powers the Apple iPad 2 and is considerably faster than the A4 chip in the iPhone 4 and first-gen iPad.
9to5Mac's source claims that the "iPhone 4S" is almost identical to the current iPhone 4, apart from the inclusion of the newer, faster processor.
The "iPhone 4S" also apparently runs a specially adapted version of iOS4, created to work with the A5 chip in the iPhone.
The iPhone 5 is rumoured to be launching later this year, with no official word, as yet, from Apple.

Explained: Sony PSN hack: what you can and can't do
Sony admitted this week that its PlayStation Network (PSN) has been hacked, which has put all of the 77 million accounts on the service at risk.
Not only has the Japanese government condemned the data breach, as well as an American senator, most security experts are telling users to take precautions with their banks - as their credit card details could already be in the hands of scammers.
There's a lot of confusion surrounding the data breach so here is TechRadar's guide to what you can (and can't) do in the face of the PSN hack to make sure your details are safe.
PSN hack: What you you CAN do
1. Keep an eye on your bank account
Now is the time to monitor your bank account and make sure that no dodgy transactions are taking place.
Sony may be unclear if your credit card details have been taken, but you can do no worse than contacting your bank to make sure that money isn't being taken out to pay for someone's holiday in Jamaica.
2. Watch for spam
We all get email spam but if the account you used to sign up to the PSN with starts filling up with phishing emails asking for your account details, then crank up the filter as it's more than likely your email address has got into the wrong hands.
Sony has already said that it will not contact you in any way, including by email, asking for your credit card number, social security number or other personally identifiable information - so don't reply to any Sony-related emails if they start coming in.
3. Change passwords that are the same as your PSN one
If you are anything like the majority of people, then you will be using the same password for many of your sites.
Once that password is out, fraudsters will be able to get into your other accounts that use the same password, such as Facebook, Twitter and your online shopping sites.
If you don't know how to create a password that recognisable but not 12345, then check out Sophos' decent how-to video below.
4. Listen to the experts - act now
Graham Cluely from Sophos has been very vocal about the PSN hack and has come to the conclusion the breach is serious.
We would follow Cluely's advice. He said about the hack: "The fraudsters won't wait around - for them this is a treasure trove ripe for exploiting. You need to act now to minimise the chances that your identity and bank account become casualties following this hack.
"That means, changing your online passwords (especially if you use the same password on other sites), and considering whether it would be prudent to inform your bank that as far as you're concerned your credit card is now compromised."
Christopher Boyd, senior threat researcher at GFI Software, also gave the following warning: "It's crucial that access [to the PSN] is restored as soon as possible so that users can confirm what information might have been compromised."
5. Buy an Xbox
Yes, we're joking but what's the betting Microsoft is rubbing its hands in delight at the fact that some users burnt by Sony will defect to the Xbox 360.
PSN hack: What you can't do
Here's the big problem: with the PSN down, there are a number of things that you just can't find out?
1. Know if you account is affected
The main problem with Sony's statement was that it was a sweeping one, which addressed 77 million people. There was no get out of jail card for the UK, Japan etc? at the moment, and until Sony updates, all PSN users are affected and have been for a week.
2. Change your PSN password
All PlayStation Users would love to get into their account and change their passwords but they can't as Sony has put the PSN on lockdown.
It may be closing the stable door once the horse has bolted, but the mere fact you can't change your password at the moment is worrying. And what's even more worrying is that when the PSN does come back online, it may crash with everyone trying to amend their accounts.
3. Find out what credit card you used for PSN
The PSN has been around since 2007 (in the UK, since November 2006 in Japan), which means some users will have no idea which card they have linked to the PSN. This is a bit of a nightmare, considering you would want to know which card you need to keep an eye on.
Until the PSN is back up and running there is no way to see which card you have on your account - unless you want to trawl through months of statements to see which account that last SingStar micropayment came from.
4. Change your gamer tag
If someone has stolen your PSN identity, then the first thing you would want to do is change it enough so that you claim it back. One of the best ways to do this is change your gamer tag.
Unfortunately, with the PSN down this is impossible to do. With this in mind, it is recommended you change any tags that are the same as your gamer one. So if your Twitter identity is the same as your PSN one, then it's best to think another one up pretty quick.

The next Assassin's Creed game could be subtitled Revelations, judging by a botched reveal on Ubisoft's Facebook page.
As detailed in a NeoGAF thread, a post on the Assassin's Creed Facebook page earlier today announced, "The day you have been waiting for has arrived! Click the link below to help reveal an exclusive look at the upcoming Assassin's Creed game!"
Users were then directed to a separate page asking them to hit 'Like' to help unlock a reveal. The site was quickly pulled, but not before someone discovered a logo for Assassin's Creed: Revelations in the page's Flash file as well as original protagonist Altair's name written in Arabic.

Sony: PSN back soon, regrets incident
Sony has given out another update on the ongoing PSN debacle, with a lengthy Q&A insisting that the company is still not sure that credit card numbers have indeed been taken, defending the lack of encryption on the personal data that certainly was and insisting that the service will be back soon.
Sony's PSN service has now been down for over a week ? but gamers annoyance turned to horror when it turned out that personal details had been compromised by the people responsible, and that encrypted credit card data was among that data.
With experts suggesting that cancelling the card would be sensible, Sony is still suggesting that there is no evidence that the credit card details have been taken, and the company has pointed out that credit card security codes had never been included in the data set.
Patience
"First off, we want to again thank you for your patience," said Sony's latest blog ? by Patrick Seybold.
" We know that the PlayStation Network and Qriocity outage has been frustrating for you. We know you are upset, and so we are taking steps to make our services safer and more secure than ever before.
"We sincerely regret any inconvenience or concern this outage has caused, and rest assured that we're going to get the services back online as quickly as we can."
What is clear is that this is a hugely embarrassing incident for a company pushing its reliability and cloud service capability.
So when will the service be back? "Our employees have been working day and night to restore operations as quickly as possible, and we expect to have some services up and running within a week from yesterday," said Sony
"However, we want to be very clear that we will only restore operations when we are confident that the network is secure."

The UK financial services industry has moved to calm growing fear among PlayStation gamers that they may be the victim of identity theft following the PlayStation Network security breach.

The comments come amid growing intensity around Sony, which confirmed last night that over 70 million PSN users have had their personal details stolen by a hacker.

Nintendos profits down, but the 3DS is doing alright
Nintendos been on a financial information frenzy today, but it hasnt been all good news. Sales and profits were massively down but there were other factors in play as well as just the slowing sales of the Wii.
Total sales were down 29.3% from last year and operating income was down an even worse 52% from last year. Net income too was down 66.1%. Sales were down in Japan and Europe and Nintendo made a point to mention that the US sales were down also. They now say that the US is their largest market. The bright stars of the last year were the various Mario 25th Anniversary products, Pokemon Black and White, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Wii Party and Donkey Kong Country Returns.
Nintendo has also continued to blame the drops in profit on the weakening of the yen against foreign currencies. The earthquake that hit Japan earlier this March was also mentioned but Nintendo has said it will not impact production, however, there could be an indirect impact on peoples purchasing habits in the future because of it.
The Nintendo 3DS will also get a renewed push after sales which, although strong, have been far below expectation in every region. Nintendo will vigorously push it. The DS and Wii will continue to be supported, with the Wii to be getting a new game each month from the company for the next few months and reminded us that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is still on its way.
Nintendos really in a transition period right now, the DS and Wii are slowing, the 3DS hasnt taken off as fast as they would have liked and Project Cafe is a while away. Time ahead will be interesting...

Xbox 360 and Kinect boost Microsoft profits
Microsoft reports record revenues of $16.43bn (9.86bn) this week for its third financial quarter (ending March 31 2011), with sales of the Xbox 360 and Kinect helping to boost Redmond's coffers.
Revenues were up 13 per cent year-on-year, with overall profits climbing 10 per cent to $5.7bn (3.42).
Record Xbox sales
The past year has seen record sales of Xbox 360 consoles, increased by the launch of the new Kinect motion controller in late 2010.
Microsoft's Entertainment & Devices Division (EDD) posted revenues of $1.94bn (1.16bn), up 60 per cent compared to the first quarter in 2010, with EDD profits up 50 per cent to $225m (135m).
2.7m Xbox 360s were sold over the quarter, which means total Xbox 360 sales are now near to 53m units worldwide.
Microsoft sold 2.4m Kinect units in the same quarter, which takes total sales since launch to around 10.5m
Further growth predicted
"We delivered strong financial results despite a mixed PC environment, which demonstrates the strength and breadth of our businesses," CFO Peter Klein said.
"Consumers are purchasing Office 2010, Xbox and Kinect at tremendous rates, and businesses of all sizes are purchasing Microsoft platforms and applications."
Microsoft predicts EDD revenue should increase by around 25 per cent in the next quarter.
The company also added that it has sold 350m Windows Phone 7 licenses.

Latest Alienware range brings powerful M18X laptop
Dell has unveiled its latest Alienware laptops, with a refreshed M11X gaming netbook joined by the 18-inch M18X and the M14X.
The headliner is the M18X ? very much a desktop replacement rather than something you'll be carrying around with you in daily life ? which apparently "lays claim to the title of the most powerful 18-inch gaming laptop in the universe". A bold claim indeed.
The 18-incher will come with dual-graphics technology and an Intel Core i7 Extreme CPU, factory overclocked to a whopping 4GHz..
Pwn
"If you're a gamer, you're going to love our new family of laptops, which deliver on the features gamers care most about ? uncompromised graphics performance, and lifelike 3D gaming," said Arthur Lewis, general manager of Alienware.
"We are committed to delivering the best gaming systems for enthusiasts everywhere and we take great pride in helping them 'pwn', no matter where they are in the world."
All of the laptops have HDMI 1.4 and SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports, the M14X also offers up Core i7 processor options while the M11X has been updated from its already impressive specs to offer up "second-generation Intel Core i processors with Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 and updated graphics featuring the NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M."
The prices start at over a grand and work their way up quickly as you pick off the best options. But this is unashamedly high-end gaming kit, so you wouldn't expect bargain basement prices anyway.
Alienware's highlights for each laptop are:

An 18.4-inch FHD WLED 1080p display for the best visuals possible
Powerful Dual GPU options with the fastest graphics memory (GDDR5) on all graphics options
