That's why America's omni-parent, the ESRB, has rated the game M for Mature. Blood, Partial Nudity, Sexual Themes, Strong Language and Use of Alcohol and Violence are all present.
Most themes are explored by hero Vincent during dreams; nightmares he navigates hoping to reach the exit. Put a foot wrong and you'll be killed with "exaggerated splashes of blood". You'll be "stabbed, crushed, shot or bitten".
